Biography of Dr David R Humphrey

David Humphrey’s biography begins where David Humphrey was born in Toronto, Canada to an alcoholic father and a bi-polar mother. His oldest brother was struck by lightening on a camp canoe trip. This drove him to be a healer and helper. This combined with his mother and father birthed in him a burning desire to help and heal by being a medical doctor.

But there was a problem getting through medical school, he was truly a people person and suffered from difficulties in reading, memorizing and focusing. This threatened his whole dream of graduating and becoming a doctor. He worked endless hours and sleepless nights in medical school to learn memory tricks to study and learn the massive amounts of scientific data necessary to reach his goals.

Humphrey graduated medical school and drove from Toronto to Alabama to train at a one year post-doctorate preceptorship under the best doctors he could find. Looking to the future, he knew he needed to save extra money to open his first clinic, so he devised and executed a plan to do so. He would travel 90 miles just for a one-night shift in an ER clinic. David knew he had to be intense, persistent, and committed to train his mind to stay the course.

He finished his residency and moved several thousand miles away, opening his own medical practice in Seattle Washington. Where he served the communities in Seattle for 14 years. But within the first 3 years, he met a group of people who changed his life forever.

At the age of 30 he embarked on a new journey of helping people outside of the doctor’s office. He sought to help people understand that if they changed their thoughts, their physical health and whole life would drastically improve. Learning how to take control of their thought life and the basics of success can transform their relationships and careers.

The Humphrey Motivational practice grew to a scale larger than most in the industry ever dreamed possible, allowing him to speak in stadiums full of people and travel to speak at conferences every week at cities across the US.
